Gnowangerup
- The Shire of Gnowangerup is situated in the Great
Southern area, 365 kilometres southeast of Perth and 140 kilometres
north of Albany. It has a population of approximately 1400 people and
features three towns – Gnowangerup, Ongerup and Borden.
- Gnowangerup, named as the place of the Mallee Fowl in the Aboriginal Noongar language.
- The Shire of Gnowangerup supports a population of 1271 (ABS 2011), a range of small to medium businesses many based around the agricultural and manufacturing industries and also a number of tourism enterprises.
